A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THt CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT A GRANT AWARD PROM THE XtNNEbY
'OUNbATION POH VERY SPECIAL ARTS FESTIVAL
AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY CONTRACT(S) AND/OR
AGREEMENT(S) To IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Manager or his representative
has applied for a grant from the Kennedy Foundation for
Very Special Arts Festvial; and
WHEREAS, this program will expand or improve the
delivery of municipal services to the residents of the City
of Miami: and
WHEREAS, sufficient City of Miami funds have been
identified to meet any requirements for match purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
'dE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to accept a grant award from the Kennedy Foundation for Very
Special Arts Festival.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute the necessary contract(s) and/or agreement(s) to implement
this program.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION : Handicapped persons will be encouraged to prepare and.
present their art works to the public. The goal is to have about 100 handicapped
artists participate in art exhibits to be held in Bicentennial Park.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION Most of the funds ($10,500) will be used to pay the
salaries of two artists. One artist is a "ballet master" who will provide
six (6) hours of classroom instruction per week to ballet students. The
other artist is a choreographer who will provide six (6) hours of classroom
instruction per week in folk dancing.
