THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
CONTRACT(S) AND/OR AGREEMENT(S) TO IMPLEMENT
THE PRtGRAM,
WHEREAS, the City Manager or his representative
has applied for a grant from the U. 5. Department of Health,
Education and Welfare for Recreational Skills
for the Mentally Retarded; and
WHEREAS, this program will expand or improve the
delivery of municipal services to the residents of the City
of Miami; and
WHEREAS, sufficient City of Miami funds have been
identified to meet any requirements for match purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to accept a grant award from the U. S. Department of Health,
Education and Welfare for Recreational Skills and Activities
for the Mentally Retarded.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to execute the necessary contract(s) and/or agreement(s) to
implement this program.

1977.

Four (4) grant applicaiion, have been submitted to potential grantors. Resolutions
authorizing you to enter into any contracts or agreements necessary to accept
and implement the grant programs should be placed on the January 27th Commission
Agenda,
A fact sheet and draft legislation is attached for each of the four (4) pending
grunts, For two (2) of these grants (Very Special Arts Festival and Artist -in-
Residency; Program) we have already received a notice of grant award.
