THE COMPLETION AND FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROJECT
BY THE CITY COMMISSION, AFTER FIRST CONSULTING WITH
TIII CONSULTANT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS &
RECREATION
WHEREAS, the Contract Documents for the BICENTENNIAL
PARK - PHASE TT - 1975 (COMBINED PROJECTS NO. ; & 4 - UTILITIES,
SITE DEVELOPMENT, LANDSCAPING & IRRIGATI0i1) 2ND BIDDING
require: the City to retain 1.0 of the contract amount until
final acceptance and authori '`l.tl.c'n 0i' final payment by the
City Commission; and

On December 22, 1976 both the Director of Public Works
And the Director of Parks & Recreation nepartttent sent
a ,joint letter to the contractor on the above project
indicating their acceptance of the project as
substantially complete] in accordance with the plans
and specifications, Several remaining work items that
existed at that time have been completed,
Early in January the Consultant notified the Contractor
and the Project Coordinator of approximately $100,0fl0
additional work -they :could like to have hitn do with
money remaining in the Cash Allowance, The Contractor
has agreed to do this work but is requesting that the
10 % retainage, which is normally part of our contracts,
be reduced to 51.
THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS &
RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AND THE CONSULTANT RECOMMENDS
ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC WORKS TO REDUCE THE 105 RETAINAGE TO 55 FOR THE
BICENTENNIAL PARK - PHA.` II - 1975 (COMBINED PROJECTS
NO. 3 & 4 - UTILITIES, SITE DEVELOPMENT, LANDSCAPING &
IRRIGATION) - 2ND BIDDING UNTIL FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND
AUTHORIZATIO1 OF FINAL PAYMENT BY THE CITY COMMISSION.
