RESOLUTION APPROVING, RATIFYING AND
ONPIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S EMERGENCY
AUTHORIZATION OF THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE
ORDER FROM THE AVAILABLE FUNDS OF THE DEPART,.
MENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES, DIVISION OF
COMPUTER SYSTEMS, COMPUTER RENTALS ACCOUNT
(INDEX NO. 270777) IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,567 PER ANNUM
FOR THE LEASE -PURCHASE OF A DISK CONTROL
MECHANISM FOR THE BURROUGHS 1700 COMPUTER, FOR A
FIVE YEAR PERIOD AT A TOTAL COST OF $12,835.
WHEREAS, an emergency arose in City computer opera-
tions, due to the inability of the Burroughs 1700 computer disk
th store data required by the new financial management system
(FARIS) ; and
WHEREAS, an adjustment was required to convert the
present single system disks; and
WHEREAS, it was necessary for the City Manager to
authorize the emergency issuance of a purchase order against
the Department of Management Services, Division of Computer
Systems, Computer Rentals (Index No. 270777) in the amount of
$2,567 for the lease -purchase of a disk control mechanism for
the Burroughs 1700 computer; and
WHEREAS, the lease -purchase option is for 5 years
a cost of $2,567 per annum or a monthly cost of $213.91;

THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO �` 'r
Section 1. The City Manager's emergency authorization
of the issuance of a purchase order from the available funds of
the Department of Management Services, Division of Computer Systems,
Computer Rentals Account (Index No. 270777) in the amount of
$2,567 per annum for the lease -purchase of a disk control mechanism
for the Burroughs 1700 Computer for a 5 year period at a total
cost of $12,835 is hereby approved, ratified and confirmed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of January, 1977.

financial management system (FAMIS). Hence an adjustment is required
to convert our present single system disks to dual density disks.
I am authorizing you to issue a purchase order against the Department
of Management Services, Division of Computer Systems, Computer Rentals
(Index Number 270777) in the amount of $2,5G7 for the lease -purchase of
a disk control mechanism for the Burroughs 1700 computer. The lease -
purchase option is for five years at a cost of $2,567 per annum or a
monthly cost of $213.91. The total cost.for the five-year period is
$12,835.
I intend to present a ratification resolution to the City Commission
during the month of January, 1977.
