RESOLUTION APPOINTING MARISA SCHERZER
TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE AFFIRMATIVE
AC!I'ION ADVISORY BOARD AS THE REPLACEMENT
F'OR YVONNE SANTA-MARIA WHO HAS BEEN CHOSEN
TO SERVE AS THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION OFFICER
POR THE CITY OF MIAMI, UNDER ORDINANCE NO.
8519, ADOPTED F*?BRUARY 10, 1976, THE HEREIN
APPOINTMENT TO BF FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE
TERM OF SAID YVONNE SANTA-MARIA WHICH EXPIRES
MARCIH 25, 1978.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created an Affirmative
Action Advisory Board by the passage of Ordinance No. 8519,
adopted February 10, 1976, said Board consisting of 15 members,
10 of whom are appointed directly by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne Santa -Maria was appointed to serve as a
member of said Board by Resolution No. 76-348, adopted March 25,
1976, to serve for a period of two years; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne Santa -Maria has recently been designated
as the person to serve in the capacity of Executive Secretary
for the Affirmative Action Advisory Board and will also, by
virtue of the aforesaid Ordinance, hold the position of and be
otherwise known as the Affirmative Action Officer, such designa-
tion creating a vacancy on the Affirmative Action Advisory Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION

Section 1. Marisa Scherzer is hereby appointed to serve

am pleased with your designation of Yvonne Santa -Maria
as the new director of Affirmative Action. Her new position
will leave a vacancy on the Advisory Board to which I would
like to name a replacement. Please instruct the law department
to prepare the necessary document naming Marisa Scherzer to
the Board. I am preparing a resume to accompany the agenda
item for Jan. 13.
