RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCNASt
IN LIEU OF CONDEMNATION A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE
LOCATED AT 136 SOUTHWEST 9TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA,
FOR THE SUM OF THIRTY THOUSAND ($30,000.00) DOLLARS
AND ALLOCATING THIRTY THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($30,500.00)
DOLLARS FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS TO COVER THE
COST OF ACQUISITION OF FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY
AND OTHER COSTS INCIDENTAL TO THE ACQUISITION.
WHEREAS, the property at 136 Southwest 9th Avenue, Miami,
lorida, is a portion of a property proposed to be acquired for
the expansion of Little Havana Community Center, formerly known
as the Riverside Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Community Development has approved
the acquisition of this property to provide further space for the
Little Havana Community Center, and concurs with the recommenda-
tion to acquire this parcel; and
WHEREAS, the necessary monies for said acquisition are avail-

Attached tesolUtion authorizes the purchase
'tif a single family residence adjacent to the
Little Havana Neighborhood Facility and the pro-
posed 75 unit Section 8 elderly hi -rise. This
additional land is intended to provide parking
and open space to meet zoning requirements, pre -
Vent severe parking and recreational problems in
the near future and promote the most appropriate
and efficient use of the entire site.
Funds for the purchase of this property will come
from the $350,000 second year Community Development
allocation for site acquisition in Little Havana.
Appraisals for the subject property was conducted
by C. George Hedg-peth, M.A.I. in the month of
August and received by the City on September 2,
1976. Appraisal value was set at $30,000 for this
property, located at 136 S.W. 9 Avenue

Thirty Thousand ($30,000.00) Dollars, on the following described
