Hannon City Clerk Date: September 28, 2020 Subject: Overtown Advisory Board/ Overtown Community Oversight Board Appointed Members References: Agenda for October 8, 2020 Enclosures: Qualifying Chart, Applications for Appointed Members and List of Members The Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board was created via Ordinance 12858 amending Article XI of Chapter 2 of the City Code to encourage and support housing, job creation, economic and business development, educational opportunities, and historic and cultural preservation within the Overtown Community. The Board shall provide written recommendations to the City Commission regarding activities, developments, and improvements within or substantially impacting the residents of the Overtown Area. The Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board, in addition to five (5) elected members, shall consist of six (6) members who shall be appointed. In accordance with Ordinance 12858, the District 5 City Commissioner shall appoint five (5) qualified members and the Mayor shall appoint one (1) qualified member to the Board. Additionally, the District 5 Commissioner shall appoint one (1) qualified youth board member, and the Overtown Advisory Board/Overtown Community Oversight Board shall appoint one (1) qualified youth board member. An ad was placed in a newspaper of general circulation to solicit qualified prospective appointees. See attached. Six (6) appointments are required at this time. • Mayor Francis Suarez has one (1) nomination for an appointed seat:' 1. One (1) nomination for a qualified individual for an appointed seat. The eligible applicants are: Tramitrus Austin -Swindle, Mae Christian, Tamme Flood, Kamau Fulger, Reginald Munnings, Daeja O'Donoghue, and Keon Williams. • Commissioner Keon Hardemon has five (5) nominations for appointed seats:2 1.
