WHEREAS, the City of Miami has been awarded grant funding from the Alliance for Aging Inc., ("Alliance") in an amount not to exceed One Million and 00/100 ($1,000,000.00) ("Grant Award") to deliver meals and recreational services for participants age Sixty and older at the Rebecca Sosa Center; and WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs ("DOEA") has entered into a contract with the Alliance to fund Local Services Program providers serving elderly adults in Miami -Dade County; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to accept the reimbursement Grant Award, establish a Special Revenue Project, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance, implementation of, and compliance with the Grant Award and to appropriate the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept the reimbursement grant award from the Alliance for Aging, Inc., a Florida not for profit corporation, for an amount not to exceed One Million and 00/100 Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for the provision of elderly services for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is established, and resources are appropriated as described herein: PROJECT TITLE: LOCAL SERVICES PROGRAM AT REBECCA SOSA CENTER 2025-2026 RESOURCES: ALLIANCE FOR AGING, INC. $1,000,000.00 APPROPRIATIONS: LOCAL SERVICES PROGRAM AT REBECCA SOSA CENTER 2025-2026 $1,000,000.00 Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to execute the necessary documents, amendments, extensions, renewals, and modifications in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for the acceptance, implantation of, and compliance with the reimbursement grant award. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ge Wy y ng III, C y -ttor -y 1/12/2026 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
