The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board was created to exercise supervisory
control over the activities of the director and the staff of the Downtown Development Authority.
Thirteen (of the seventeen) members of the DDA shall be appointed by the current board of
directors of the DDA and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation. One member may be
appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Miami -Dade County and submitted to the
City Commission for confirmation. One member may be appointed by the Cabinet of the State
and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation. One member may be appointed by the
Miami Dade College and submitted to the City Commission for confirmation.
• The Commission -At -Large is being requested to confirm the appointment of the
following member:
1. Vicki Lopez, a member appointed by the board of county commissioners of Dade County
and submitted to the city commission for confirmation, for an unexpired term ending
August 31, 2026. (Eileen Higgins resigned effective December 11, 2025)
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said authority. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the January 8,
2026, Commission agenda.
