A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION SETTING AND ESTABLISHING
THE SALARY AND COMPENSATION FOR MAYOR EILEEN T. HIGGINS WITH A
MINIMUM SALARY OF NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND AND 00/100 DOLLARS
($97,000.00) ANNUALLY.
WHEREAS, Section 4(h) of the Charter of the City of Miami, Florida provides that the
compensation for the Mayor shall be determined by the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, Eileen T. Higgins was elected to the Office of the Mayor and sworn into
Office on December 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the salary of the previous Mayor was Ninety -Seven Thousand and 00/100
Dollars ($97,000.00) annually;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION ON THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Mayor Eileen T. Higgins shall be paid Ninety -Seven Thousand and 00/100
Dollars ($97,000.00) annually.
Section 3. Mayor Eileen T. Higgins shall be provided the same benefits as other elected
officials of the City of Miami.
Section 4. The herein salary and compensation shall be effective as of December 18,
2025.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.

1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
