A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT TITLED "EMERGENCY
HOTEL/MOTEL PROGRAM, PC-2526-HTMT-1" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED OF TWO MILLION THREE HUNDRED
TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND AND SEVENTY-TWO DOLLARS ($2,322,072.00),
CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM MIAMI-DADE COUNTY THROUGH THE
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HOMELESS TRUST ("COUNTY") FOR A TWELVE (12)
MONTH PERIOD, WITH NO CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") MATCHING FUNDS
REQUIRED, FOR THE PROVISION OF TEMPORARY EMERGENCY
HOTEL/MOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES ("GRANT");
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT
AGREEMENT("AGREEMENT") WITH THE COUNTY FOR SAID PURPOSE, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, CONDITIONED UPON THE
AVAILABILITY OF CITY RESOURCES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED TO
IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE UP TO TWO
(2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR RENEWALS TO THE AGREEMENT AND
OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, ALL IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE
CITY ATTORNEY, IN FURTHERANCE OF THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant in an amount not to
exceed $2,322,072.00 ("Grant") from Miami -Dade County, through the Miami -Dade County
Homeless Trust ("County"), for the provision of temporary emergency hotel/motel
accommodations for homeless families during the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Human Services ("Department") will utilize the
Grant for its Homeless Services Division to provide temporary placement services in
participating hotels or motels, food vouchers, and transportation services for homeless families;
and
WHEREAS it is appropriate for the City Manager to enter into a grant agreement with the
County for acceptance of the Grant for said propose, in substantially the attached form
("Agreement"), and to establish a new special revenue project for the appropriation of the Grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorizedI to execute the Agreement, in substantially
the attached form, between the County and the City accepting a Grant in the amount not to

exceed two million three hundred twenty-two thousand and seventy-two dollars ($2,322,072.00),
with no City match funds required, for the provision of temporary emergency hotel/motel
accommodations for homeless families conditioned upon the availability of the City resources
required to implement the acceptance of and compliance with said Grant.
Section 3. The following new Special Revenue Project is hereby established with
resources for the same appropriated as described below:
PROJECT TITTLE: Emergency Hotel/Motel Placement Program,
PC-2526-HTMT-1.
RESOURCES:
The Miami -Dade County Homeless Trust $2,322,072.00
APPROPRIATIONS: Provision of temporary emergency hotel/motel
accommodations for homeless families: $2,322,072.00
Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute up to two
(2) additional one (1) year renewals to the Agreement, and all amendments, documents
necessary, all in form acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement and allocate the
acceptance of said Grant Award.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
