Subject: Execute - Off -System Agrmnt - FDOT - SR 968 /SW 1 ST/SW 6 AVE
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachment(s), authorizing the City
Manager to execute an Off -System Construction and Maintenance Agreement, in
substantially the attached form, with the State of Florida Department of Transportation
("FDOT"), for improvements on State Road 968 / SW 1 Street at the intersection with
SW 6 Avenue for general roadway improvements in this corridor, including
improvements on roads not on the state highway system.
Background of Item:
FDOT has developed design plans Financial Management ("FM") Project No. FM
250629-6-32-01 / TWO 51, for the construction of a concrete curb and sidewalk
extension on the northeast corner, and relocation of the pedestrian ramp, crosswalk,
stop bar and sign ("Project"). FDOT intends to undertake and complete the Project, a
portion of which includes work on roads not on the State Highway System but City of
Miami ("City") right-of-way, specifically on SW 6 Avenue north of SR 968 / SW 1 Street
(for purposes of this agreement, the "Off -System Project Limits"). The Project includes
the installation construction of concrete curb and sidewalk extension, milling and
resurfacing existing asphalt pavement, pavement markings and signs ("Local Roadway
Improvements") and all activities associated with, or arising out of the construction of
the Local Roadway Improvements. The Off -System Construction and Maintenance
Agreement, attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A", establishes the terms, conditions,
and responsibilities of FDOT and the City to accomplish the Project and Local Roadway
Improvements on the City's Streets.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN OFF -SYSTEM
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION ("FDOT"), FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON STATE ROAD 968 /
SOUTHWEST 1 STREET AT THE INTERSECTION WITH SOUTHWEST 6 AVENUE,
MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR GENERAL ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS IN THIS
CORRIDOR, INCLUDING IMPROVEMENTS ON ROADS NOT ON THE STATE
HIGHWAY SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has developed design

specifically on Southwest 6 Avenue north of State Road 968 ("SR 968") / Southwest 1 Street
(for purposes of this agreement, the "Off -System Project Limits") and
WHEREAS, the Project includes the installation construction of concrete curb and
sidewalk extension, milling and resurfacing existing asphalt pavement, pavement markings and
signs ("Local Roadway Improvements") and all activities associated with, or arising out of the
construction of the Local Roadway Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Off -System Construction and Maintenance Agreement ("Agreement"),
attached and incorporated as Exhibit "A," establishes the terms, conditions, and responsibilities
of FDOT and the City to accomplish the Project and Local Roadway Improvements on the City's
Streets; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees with the terms and conditions in the Agreement, in
substantially the attached form;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to execute the Agreement, in substantially

the attached form, with FDOT, for the Project on SR 968 / Southwest 1 Street at the intersection

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
