A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND
ANTONIO G. DIAZ AS INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR GENERAL, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2-160(C) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, AS AMENDED;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 24, 2025, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. R-25-
0316, approving the appointment of Antonio G. Diaz as the Independent Inspector General
of the City of Miami, with the effective date of said appointment to be the date the City
Commission approves the Inspector General's contract by separate Resolution pursuant to
Section 2-160(c) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-160(c) of the City Code, the Director of Human
Resources was authorized, in consultation with the City Attorney, to negotiate an
employment contract with the Independent Inspector General, subject to approval by the
City Commission; and
WHEREAS, a contract of employment has been negotiated and is being presented
to the City Commission for approval pursuant to Section 2-160(c) of the City Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission, pursuant to Section 2-160(c) of the City Code,
approves the employment contract between the City of Miami and Antonio G. Diaz as the
Independent Inspector General of the City of Miami, attached and incorporated as Exhibit
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
