As the Director of the Division of State Fire Marshal within the Florida Department of Financial
Services, it is my privilege to inform you that the 2025 Florida Legislature appropriated funds to
support and sustain the statewide Urban Search & Rescue.
As a US&R Team sponsor, City of Miami Fire Rescue has been identified to receive the
following grant funds:
• US&R Sustainment $337,500
To confirm your acceptance please complete the Confirmation Form on the following page and
return to Ms. Jada Childs at iada.childs@myfloridacfo.com. Once confirmed a contract manager
will reach out to you with grant contract documents and a list of eligible purchases. The grant
comes in the form of reimbursement of funds for eligible items. Do not expend any local funds
towards the purchases of equipment or goods until the final grant documents are finalized and
executed by both parties.
Please note, the defined performance period for the grant ends on June 30, 2026.
