A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO
SECTION 14 OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, TO ISSUE A SUBPOENA TO WILLIAM ORTIZ, CHIEF OF STAFF
FOR COMMISSIONER JOE CAROLLO, TO APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY
COMMISSION ON JUNE 12, 2025, FOR THE PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATING
OFFICIAL ACTS AND CONDUCT OF A CITY OFFICIAL.
SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Miguel Angel Gabela
WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission wishes to investigate the official acts and
conduct of a City of Miami ("City") official; and
WHEREAS, Section 14 of the Charter of the City of Miami, as amended ("City Charter"),
permits the City Commission to issue subpoenas to witnesses for the purpose of investigating
official acts and conduct of a City official;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 14 of the City Charter, the City Commission hereby
issues a subpoena to William Ortiz, Chief of Staff for Commission Joe Carollo, to appear before
the Commission on June 12, 2025, for the purpose of investigating official acts and conduct of a
City official.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
