RESOLUTION NO.r 8 .r 4
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE
SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $47,966 FOR THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM
STRUCTURAL REPAIRS - 1978; ALLOCATING THE
ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $.47,966 FROM THE "ORANGE
BOWL ENTERPRISE FUND".
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated March 31,
1978 between the CITY OF MIAMI and MET Construction, Inc,; and
WHEREAS, during the course of the work under said
contract, deteriorated joists and other deteriorated struc-
tural members were uncovered beyond expectation; and
WHEREAS, the Directors of the Department of Public
Works and Department of Stadiums and Marinas and the City
Manager recommend an increase in the scope of the existing
contract so that the additional deteriorated members be
repaired; and
WHEREAS, funds for the increase in
the scope of the
contract are available in the "Orange Bowl Enterprise Fund"
which previously appropriated funds for Orange Bowl Stadium
repairs by Ordinance No. 8731, dated December 15, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the contractor on the project has provided
written confirmation that the increased scope of the work will
not require an increase in construction time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: "DOCUMENT INDEX
Section 1. The scope of work and a n•t•-•e€---e#e--con-
tract for the Orange Bowl Stadium Structural Repairs - 1978 is hereby
increased in an amount not to exceed $47,966 with funds therefor
hereby allocated from the "Orange Bowl Enterprise Fund".

Orange Bowl Structural Repairs -
1978 - Increase in Contract
Necessary demolition in connection with joist replacement on
the Orange Bowl Structural Repairs - 1978 Contract project has
uncovered deteriorated joists and other structural members
beyond expectation. We have determined that the replacement
and repairs we need to make cannot be accomplished with the
contract funds.
The Director of the Department of Stadiums and Marinas concurs
with us in recommending that $47,966.00 in unused "Orange Bowl
Enterprise Funds", previously allocated for structural repairs
to the stadium this year by Ordinance No. 8731 dated December 15,
1977, be utilized to fund an Increase in Contract that will allow
us to make the repairs.
The Contractor on the project has provided written confirmation
that the increased scope of work will not require an increase in
construction time.
THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND THE DEPARTMENT OF STADIUMS
AND MARINAS RECOMMENDS THE ADOPTIOII OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
AN INCREASE IN THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $47,966.00 FOR THE ORANGE BOWL STRUCTURAL REPAIRS - 1978;
ALLOCATING THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $47, 966.00 FROM THE ACCOUNT
ENTITLED "ORANGE BOWL ENTERPRISE FUND".
