HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-78-04035/22/78 et RESOLUTION NO.. 78403 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE IN LIEU OF CONDEMNATION A FOUR UNIT APARTMENT HOUSE OF TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX SQUARE FEET, SITTING ON A LOT WHICH IS COMPRISED OF SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FIVE SQUARE FEET, LOCATED AT 229 NORTHWEST THIRTIETH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE SUM OF THIRTY SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY ($36,250) DOLLARS FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS TO COVER THE COST OF ACQUISITION OF FEE SIMPLE TO THIS PROPERTY, AND OTHER COSTS INCIDENTAL TO THE ACQUISITION. WHEREAS, the property located at 229 Northwest 30th Street, Miami, Florida, is proposed to be acquired for the development of a mini -park for the use of citizens in WYNWOOD PARK AREA; and WHEREAS, the Office of Community Development has approved the acquisition of this property to provide a mini -park in the WYNWOOD PARK area and concurs with the recommendation to acquire this parcel; and WHEREAS, the necessary monies for said acquisition are available in the Third Year Funding of Community Development Projects; and WHEREAS, this acquisition was done in accordance to the Land Acquisition Policies under Community Development Programs, which include cost of relocation assistance, if required, as detailed in HUD Handbook 1320.1 "DOCUMENT NDEX ITEM NO. WHEREAS, the owner of the property has y Agreement dated the 28th day of April, 1978, offered to convey fee simple title to this property to the City of Miami, Florida, for the appraised price, plus bonus, of Thirty - Six Thousand Two Hundred Fifty ($36,250.00) Dollars, and WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the City of Miami, Florida, to acquire the property at this time through purchase in lieu of condemnation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Real Property Acquisitions; and Page 1 of 2. Funds are available for this acquisition from the City of Miami's Third Year Community Development Program - (project Budget: $100,000). Solicitations for appraisal proposals were sent to twenty-one M.A.I. Appraisers, with seven (7) responses. The two Appraisers selected were the lowest appraisals received.
