Home My WebLink AboutO-08805AlgttiMANT tit PAM Rot • C i ORDNANCE NO Y 8805 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2 ANb 5 OF ORDINANCE No, 8731, ADOPTED DECEMBER 16, 1°177, THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR CNbtNG SEPTEMBER 30, 1978, AS AMENDED, 8Y INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE INTRAGOVERNMENTAL SERVICE FUND COMPUTE1tS AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT IN AN AMOUNT OF $52,093, To 13E DERIVED FROM THE GENERAL, FUND, SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, AS FOLLOWS: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - $10,000, CONTINGENT POND - $38,896, AND SEVERANCE PAY - $3,247, TO COVER THE INCREASED COST OF TELEPHONE SERVICES; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No, 8731, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for fiscal year 1977-78, on December 16, 1977, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida; and WHEREAS, the Computers and Communications Department has projected a deficit of $52,093 in its Telephone Facilities Account for the fiscal year 1977/78; and WHEREAS, this information is based on seven months' experience - October, 1977, through April, 1978 - and a 22% increase by Southern Bell effective August 1977; and WHEREAS, funds are available from the following accounts in the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts: Environmental Protection $10,000, Contingent Fund - $38,896, and Severance Pay - $3,247, for a total of $52,093, and can be transferred to Intragovernmental Service funds - Computers and Communications Department within Special Programs and Accounts to cover the increased cost of telephone services; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1, Section 2 of Ordinance No, 8731, adopted December 16, 1977 is hereby amended as follows:1/ "Section 2, The following activities, Which are carried on for the service convehience of other funds, shall be operated by the City Manager within the limits of the appropriations provided in the foregoing Departments, Boards, and accounts of the City of Miami and other revenues or receipts which may be received. This projection is based on seven months emperience of the current fiscal year and a 22/ increase by southern tell, effective August, 1977 (Refer to the attached April 20 and 28 memorandums). Richard Fosmoen, Assistant City Manager, has suggested that the Contingent Fund in Special Programs and Accounts be used to off- set a portion of this deficit, An amount of $38,896.00 is available from the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund. The balance of the necessary funds is available from the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Environmental Protection Account, in an amount of $10,000 and the Reserve for Severance Pay in an amount of $3,247.00, for a total of $52,093,00. The attached proposed ordinance would appropriate $52,093 into Intragovernmental Service Funds, Computers and Communications Department for the purpose of funding the increased cost of tele- phone service.
