HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-78-0359GMM/ts 4/27/78 RESOLUTION NO. 7 8- 3 5 9 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A NEIGIHBORHOOD FACILITY, PER ARTICLE XXI-2, SECTION 3(1-2), ON TRACT 10, TOWN PARK SUB 4, URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT FLORIDA R-10 (87-52), BEING APPROXIMATELY 1412- 1658 N.W. 3RD AVENUE, PROPOSED TO BE REZONED FROM R-4 (MEDIUM DENSITY MULTIPLE) TO GU (GOVERNMENTAL USE), FINDING THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THIS USE IS (a) COM- PATIBLE WITH THE SURROUNDING AREA, (b) IN CONFORMITY WITH M.C.N.D.P., (c) SERVED BY AN ARTERIAL STREET, (d) BENEFICIAL TO THE SURROUNDING AREA, (e) IN SCALE WITH THE COMMUNITY, (f) PROVIDES LANDSCAPING AND OPEN SPACE, (g) ESSENTIAL FOR THE WELFARE OF THE COMMUNITY, AND IS SUBJECT TO FINAL SITE AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVAL BY THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND THE PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD. WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of April 5, 1978, Item #1(b), following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. PAB 12-78 by a 5 to 2 vote (1 member absent), recommending approval of the construction and operation of a neighborhood facility as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, no objections were received to said construction and operation; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant said approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THECOMMISSION lOF / t, ! The construction and operation of a neig'hbor- CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: hood facility, per Article XXI-2, Section 3(1-2), on Tract 10, TOWN PARK SUB 4, URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT FLORIDA R-10 (87-52), being approximately 1432-1658 N.W. 3rd Avenue, proposed to be rezoned from R-4.(Medium Density Multiple) to GU (Governmental Use), finding that the establishment of this use is (a) compat- ible with the surrounding area, (b) in conformity with M.C.N.D.P., (c) served by an arterial street, (d) beneficial to the surround- ing area, (e) in scale with the community, (f) provides land- scaping and open space, (g) essential for the welfare of the community, and is subject to a final site and development plan Carr COMMON MEETING OF MAY1 9 1978 1111i.11/11.1..
