FOR FURNISHING THREE HUNDRED SIDEWALK LITTER RECEPT- ACLES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE AT A TOTAL COST OF $27,228.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE POLLUTION AND INCINERATOR BOND FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 10, 1978 for the furnishing of three hundred sidewalk litter receptacles for the Department of Solid Wastet and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to thirty-four potential suppliers and eight bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Pollution Control and Incinerator Bond Fund; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Solid Waste for the purpose of expanding the litter control program and the replace- ment of damaged containers; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Solid Waste recommend that the bid received from Rex Chemical Corporation be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF "DOCUMENT I TEX MIAMI, FLORIDA: EhNf Section 1. The April 10, 1978 bid of ITRexM C e ical a poration for furnishing three hundred sidewalk litter receptacles at a total cost of $27,228.00 is hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from the Pollution Control and Incinerator Bond Fund of the Department of Solid Waste. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Order for this equipment. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of May 1978. Mullins Purchasing Agent April 17, 1978 Recommendation for Reso.ution and Award of Bid: Sidewalk Litter Receptacles r Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 10, 1978 for furnishing three hundred sidewalk litter receptacles for the Department of Solid Waste. Invitations were mailed to thirty-four potential sup- pliers and eight bids were received. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the Pollution Control and Incinerator Bond Fund. The receptacles are placed in strategic locations throughout the City to expand the litter control program. It is recommended that the award be made and a reso- lution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Rex Chemical Corporation for furnish- ing three hundred sidewalk litter receptacles for the Department of Solid Waste at a total cost of $27,228.00. The Department of Solid Waste concurs with this recommendation.
