Home My WebLink AboutR-78-0341RESOLUTION 7n, - 4 1 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF PAUL THOMPSON, PHOTO EQUIPMENT REPAIR FOR FURNISHING AN AUTOMATED SLIDE PRO= CESSOR AT A COST OF $8,995.00; BID OF GAMMACOLOR FOR FOUR CAMERAS AND LENSES AT A COST OF $543.40; BID OF MILEO PHOTO SUPPLY FOR TWO ROLL FEED SYSTEMS AT A COST OF $243.00; BID OF TRECK-VWR SCIENTIFIC FOR PROJECTOR, VIEWER AND FILM PROCESSOR AT A COST OF $4,024.00 FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM LEAA GRANT FUNDS NO. 77-A2-15-CCO1; AUTHORIZING THE CITY " S U P P 'p IT ,L ORDERSFOR MANAGER AND TTHE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE DOCUMENTS FOLLOW" WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 6, 1978 for the furnishing of color photography laboratory equipment for the Department of Police; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty potential suppliers and five bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in LEAA Grant Funds No. 77-A2-15-CC01; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Police for the purpose of developing and processing color films, prints and sketches required in Criminal Identification; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Police recommend that the bids received from Paul Thompson, Photo Equipment Repair, Mileo Photo Supply, Treck-VWR Scientifc, Gammacolor be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: T �� 4 i t Section 1. Mullins Purchasing Agent 5.• April 21. 1978 Recommendation for Resolution and Award of Bid: Color Photography Laboratory Equipment Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 6, 1978 for furnishing color photography laboratory equipment for the Department of Police. Invitations were mailed to twenty potential suppliers and five bids were received. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from LEAA Grant No. 77-A2-15-CC01 Funds. At the present time, the photography laboratory processes black and white film only. The color photography laboratory will en- able the Police Department to develop and print their color photos, film and sketches at the department and in this way cut costs and maintain a safer chain of evidence for court pro- cedures. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from the following companies for furnishing color photography lab- oratory equipment: "SUPPORTIVE DOCUMENTS FOLLOW" Bidder Price Paul Thompson, Photo Equipment Repair $ 8,995.00 Gammacolor 543.40 Mileo Photo Supply 243.00 Treck - VWR Scientific 4,024.00 Total $13,805.40 The Department of Police concurs with this recommendation. Recent modifications by the manufacturer permitted one bidder to furnish equipment that will fulfill the requirements more ef- ficently, and at a reduction in cost of $6,170.00. All other recommended items are the lowest bids meet- ing specifications.
