Prayer of the Week
Who through faith subdued kingdoms,
wrought righteousness, obtained
promises, stopped the mouths of
lions, out of weakness were made
strong.
Hebrews xi. 33, 34
She met the hosts of Sorrow with a look
That latered not beneath the frown they
wore,
And soon the lowering brook were tamed,
and took,
Meekly her gentle rule and frowned no
more.
Her soft hand put aside the assaults of
wrath,
And calmly broke in twain
The fiery shafts of pain,
And rent the nets of passion from
her path.
By that victorious hand despair was slai
slain;
With love she vanquished hate, and
overcame
Evil with good, in her great Master's
name.

A good man gone, and we have d job
to do, and a vacancy to fill, which is
yoing to be a hard job.
Scouting is a program for the youth
to be trained to become good citizens,
and it does not have room for 'Red-
neck' programming. Ibis is one of the
mistakes that we have to tolerate in
this council. Walt was a man who would
speak his mind to anybody, and a man
who stood up for the youth. All of the
boys had'respect for him, white, latin
Jews and Blacks. He came to Miami and
started his career in the Calusa Dis-
trict. He brought that district from
the bottom to the top, he was a man
of many talents and he could do them
very well. A man who could speak with
the best of them, and make them look
bad. Who wouldn't want this kind of
man to influence their wons life, but.
a 'red neck.'
Hate is a bad sin. It kills to kill
but a 'red neck' don't mind killing.
He gets a kick out of killing most of
the time..He kills his family from get-
ting trained to a better way of life,
because he don't want anybody to teach
them or influence them unless it is
another 'red neck'.If he is in a pro-
gram for youth, then he kills all oth-
er youths along with his own youth
with his narrow thinking. This is what
happened to Mr. Walt Gorham.
The Rednecks, say that this council
is not ready for Black Scout Execu-
tive. They really mean that they were
not ready to be led by a Black man,not
that he wasn't the best man, he was
BLACK.
I wonder what the word UNITED means
to them?
This tells us something that these
men do not have any regards for the
law, so they should be in jail where
all other law breakers and are, and
not in the Boy Scout program.
My/friends we have work'to do and
we can not do it with these kinds of
men, who is a defeat to our success.
We must find away to do it without

Rhodesia Blacks
To Probe Firing?
Rhodesia's biracial ruling council
has had its unity jeopardized by a
dispute over the firing of a black
Cabinet minister. The council met
briefly in emergency session last
Monday but there was no official
word on whether it headed off the
looming crisis.
Unconfirmed reports said the coun-
cil is considering setting up a com-
mittee to review the "Hove affair."
The meeting was demanded by Bishop
Abel Muzorewa, one of the three black
member of the four -man executive coun
cil. Muzorewa has denounced the firin
of co -Minister of Justice Byron Hove,
whom he appointed, and threatened to
withdraw from the government.
