WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8731 on December 16, 1977 establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1978; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is expected to adopt a Resolution accepting the bid of Phillip Gall and Son, Inc. for the sale of 1,100 confiscated hand guns by the Police Department at a total price of $45,769.50; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has requested the use of $20,000 to purchase approximately 200 new firearms; and WHEREAS, $17,000 is needed in the Department of Management and Budget for the purpose of implementing a revenue projection and monitoring function, the remainder to be placed in Special Programs and Accounts% Unallocated Balance; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Bection 1. This proposed legislation will be presented to the Commission at the April 27th meeting. (A memorandum from the Purchasing Agent is attached.) The Police Department has requested $20,000 of this money for the purchase of approXimately 200 new firearms. In additon, the bepartment of Management and Budget has identified the need for $17,000 of these funds for the purpose of implementing a revenue projection and monitoring function. The balance of $8,769 will be placed in the General fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent fund, Unallocated Balance.
