PROVISION AND A SEVERASILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8731 on
December 16, 1977 establishing revenues and appropriations for the City
of Miami, Florida for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is expected to adopt a Resolution
accepting the bid of Phillip Gall and Son, Inc. for the sale of 1,100
confiscated hand guns by the Police Department at a total price of
$45,769.50; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has requested the use of
$20,000 to purchase approximately 200 new firearms; and
WHEREAS, $17,000 is needed in the Department of Management
and Budget for the purpose of implementing a revenue projection and monitoring
function, the remainder to be placed in Special Programs and Accounts%
Unallocated Balance;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Bection 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8731, adopted December 16,
1977, as amended, is hereby further amended as follows;1/

It is anticipated that the City Commission will adopt a resolution accepting
the bid of Phillip Gall and Sofl, Inc. for the sale of 1,100 confiscated hand
guns by the Police Department at a total price of $45,769,50. This proposed
legislation will be presented to the Commission at the April 27th meeting.
(A memorandum from the Purchasing Agent is attached.)
The Police Department has requested $20,000 of this money for the purchase
of approXimately 200 new firearms. In additon, the bepartment of Management
and Budget has identified the need for $17,000 of these funds for the purpose
of implementing a revenue projection and monitoring function. The balance
of $8,769 will be placed in the General fund, Special Programs and Accounts,
Contingent fund, Unallocated Balance.
The attached proposed Ordinance would provide for the appropriation of these
funds to the Departments as mentioned above.
