A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING THE SUM OF $17,000 FROM THE
CONTINGENT FUND FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE PE-
PRINTING OF THE CITY OF MIAMI CHARTER AND CODE: THIS
SUM TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THE EXISTING ACCOUNT EN.,
TITLED "RECODIFICATION AND SUPPLEMENT TO CITY CODE"
IN THE GENERAL FUND, SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The sum of $17,000 is hereby allocated from the General
Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund for expenses involved in
the reprinting of the City Charter and Code. 1/
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the
Purchasing Agent to request proposals for the reprinting of the City Charter
and Code.

Proposed resolution to allocate
Funds for the Reprinting of the
City of Miami Charter and Code
It has been eleven years since the City of Miami Charter and Code were
reprinted. Traditionally, reprinting is done every ten years.
The City of Miami entered into a contract with the Michie Company for
recodification and reprinting of the Charter and Code in August, 1966.
This contract has expired and the Michie Company informs us that they
are curtailing their City Code operations in favor of their operations
in the law publishing business.
In view of the above, the City Clerk is requesting that you instruct
the Purchasing Agent to request proposals for the reprinting of the City
Charter and Code at the earliest possible date, and that a funding
source be determined for same.
The attached resolution proposes to fund the reprinting of the City of
Miami Charter and Code with $17,000 from the General Fund, Special
Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund to supplement the $3,000 in the
Recodification and Supplement to City Code Account.
