A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE $ID OF PHILLIP GALL AND SON,
INC. FOR THE SALE OF 1,100 HAND GUNS CONFISCATED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AT A TOTAL PRICE OF $45,769.50.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
March 1, 1978 for the sale of 1,100 hand guns confiscated by the Department
of Police, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Police recommend
the bid received from Phillip Gall & Son, Inc. be accepted as the most advan-
tageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The March 1, 1978 bid of Phillip Gall & Sons, Inc. for
the sale of 1,100 hand guns confiscated by the Department of Police at a
total price of $45,769.50 is hereby accepted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April 1978.

Pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received March 1, 1978
for the sale and/or trade of 1,100 confiscated hand guns for the
Department of Police.
Invitations were mailed to thirty-five potentialbidders
bids were received as follows:

Only one bid was received which offered the exchange of new guns in lieu
of cash. Jones Equipment Company offered to exchange 215 new guns for the
1,100 confiscated guns. 215 new guns can be purchased on the open market
for approximately $20,000.00.
It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed ac-
cepting the most advantageous bid as received from Phillip Gall & Sons,
Inc. for the sale of 1,100 confiscated hand guns at a total price of
$45,769.50.
