FLORIDA INT!✓ft-oP'F a MMIEMOOANbUM t'AtE March 13 f 1918 A5FEFit`C.`3: FILE' Request for Wainer of Rees at Marine Stadium (Parking tot) I:N CLC5uRES: The West KendallJaycees and Boystown of Florida have requested the waiving of all rental or use fees in conjunction with their planned carnival event at the Miami Marine Stadium Parking Lot on April 7, 8, and 9. I have conversed with Mr. Robert L. Jennings, Director of Stadiums and Marinas concerning this request; and, while he feels that administrative waiving of rental fees for this event is not covered by the City Commission's policy, he did agree that a reduced fee could be charged, since only the parking lot was being used. Therefore, instead of paying $450 per day ( x 3 days = $1,350), the sponsoring organizations would be charged $100 per day ( x 3 days = $300). Of course, the costs to the City for event personnel, utilities, insurance, etc., will be paid by the sponsoring organizations. Mr. Frank J. Cobo, Assistant to the Mayor, has requested to appear at the March 23, 1978 City Commission Meeting to ask that all rental fees be waived. The Department feels that the $100 per day rental fee is very reasonable and should be charged to cover costs of repairing the parking lot after the event and to cover administrative costs made necessary by this event but not charged directly. Mr. Jennings has informed me that Mrs. Stradley, the Stadium Manager, has negotiated a contract with the sponsoring organi- zations and that a signed contract calling for a rental charge of $100 per day would be delivered to the stadium on Friday, March 17, 1978. 78-188 r TO: Me Jeteph R, GtatSie City Manager CITY OF MIAMI. rl...O111bA INTEIR.oFIcE MEmortAMDUNi February 8, 1978 PEFLI,LNCES: FILE.
