HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-78-0148RESOLUTION NO: 7 8 a 1 4 8 A RESOLUTION CLOSING, VACATING, ABANDONING AND DISCONTINUING THE PUBLIC USE OF THE ALLEY LYING BETWEEN N.W. 9TH AND 10TH AVENUES AND BETWEEN N.W. 15TR AND 17TH STREETS, FOR A DISTANCE OF 680'; IN CONJUNCTION WITH TENTATIVE PLAT No, 787-B L "JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRACT ADDITIONS". WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board, at its meeting of January 23, 1978, Item No. 4, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. ZB 22-78 by a 7 to 0 vote recommending the official vacation and closure of the alley lying between N.W. 9th and 10th Avenues and between N.W. 15th and 17th Streets, for a distance of 680', in conjunction with Tentive Plat No. 787-B "JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRACT ADDITIONS"; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure as herein- after set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The alley lying between N.W. 9th and loth Avenues and between N.W. 15th and 17th Streets, for a distance of 680'; in conjunction with Tentative Plat No. 787-B - "JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRACT ADDITIONS" be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, abandoned and discontinued for public use. APPROVAL IN ACCORD WITH THE PLANS ON FILE AND SUBJECT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PLAT COMMITTEE. It is not forseen that the closure of this alley will have any adverse effect on the neighborhood. The Bascom Palmer Eye Clinic and the University of Miami Medical Library have existed over this alley for several years. With the formal closure and as one of the conditions of approval by the Plat Committee, the applicant will have to relocate any existing utilities. Pe #7 87 -8 "JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRACT ADDITIONS" Applicant: Jackson Memorial Hospital Gentlemen: The Miami Zoning Board, at its meeting of January 23, 1978, Item 44, following an advertised Hearing, adopted Resolution No. ZB 22-78 by a 7 to 0 vote recommending the official vacation and closure of the alley lying between N.W. 9th and 10th Avenues and between N.V. 15th and 17th Streets, for a distance of 680' in conjunction with Tentative Plat #787-B "JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TRACT ADDITIONS". There were no objections. A RESOLUTION to provide for this Alley Closure has been prepared by the City Attorney's office and submitted for consideration of the City Commission.
