()CCU LNG i`S FOLLOW" WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of January 4, 1978, Item No. 1, following an advertised Hearing, adopted Resolution No, PAB 1-78 by a 6 to 0 vote, recom- mending a change in street name as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in the test interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to take the following action; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSI THE "DOCUMENT_ Ifi . ITEM NO Section 1. S.W. 27th Terrace "A" between S.W. 22nd and 23rd Avenues and between S.W. 31st Avenue and 31st Court, be and the same is hereby designated as S.W. 27th Way; appropriate City maps, records and street signs are directed to be changed accordingly and the City Clerk is directed to notify the Miami Postmaster, Dade County Department of Traffic and Transportation, Signs and Markers Division, County Clerk -Board of County Commissioners and Miami -Dade Water and Sewer Authority; and the Administration is authorized to direct appropriate departments to change their records. APPLICANT PETITION Lt.EQtJDST EXPLANATION RECOMMENDATIONS PLANNING DEPARTMENT PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD PLANNING PACT St-1ttt City of Miami Planning Deliartirment Consideration of recommending that the name of SW 27th Terrace "A", located in Coconut Groves be changed to SW 27th Way, To change a street name to eliminate confusion with adjacent SW 27th Terrace. SW 27th Terrace "A" is comprised of two'block long street segments between SW 22nd and 23rd Avenues and between SW 31st Avenue and 31 st Court in Coconut Grove. There has been confusion because they are adjacent to SW 27th Ter, race. Petitions were circulated to the 10 property owners with addresses on SW 27th Terrace "A" during the period November 25 - December 1, 1977; 9 property owners recom- mended a change to SW 27th Way. City Commission policy on street name changes (Resolution - 77 506, dated June 16, 19771 is that the numbered street system should not be degraded, that any change should strengthen the numbered street system. East- west streets in the City are designated as "streets", "terraces" and "places''. The desig- nated "way" has been used only infrequently as in Biscayne Boulevard Way and Coral Way which run east -west. The Fire Department, by memorandum of December 13, 1977 and the Police Department by memorandum of December 15, 1977 have no objections to this proposal.
