It is the policy of the City Commission that no person be employed as the director of a City administrative department, unless and until a complete background investigation of such person has been conducted by the City Manager. '„a, 1 1 2/9/78 CITY OP MIAMI CoMMISSIoN POLICY SUBJECT: A policy concerning background Checks on candidates for department head positions in the City of Miami, PURPOSE: To insure that all persons assuming department head positions in the City of Miami be qualified to hold such positions in that they have been subjected to a thorough investigation and that no evidence of criminal action or moral turpitude has been discovered. POLICY: The Miami City Commission declares that it shall be the policy of the City of Miami that the City Manager, in selecting qualified people to be heads of departments, shall conduct a thorough investigation into the background of every final candidate for hiring into these positions; further, that nobody who has an alias and whose true identity and work history cannot be disclosed be hired for the position of department director. By following this procedure, the City Commission can be assured that all reasonable efforts have been made to select candidates of the highest caliber. w 7 8- 1 1 V
