OF LIFE PROGRAM' GtJSMAN HALL CONCERTS, TO COVER THE COST OFF` SAID WAIVER, WHEREAS, The Florida Philharmonic, Inc. serves a. public purpose by reason of its significant positive impac upon the cultural well-being of the citizens of this City; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid group of civic -minded individuals finds itself in a severely strained financial position with 5 more concerts scheduled this season for Gusman Hall; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: "DOCUMENT INDEX ITEM NO. / j Section 1. We are in very severe financial position, and working very hard around the clock, to effect economies and raise additional funds in order to complete our Season committments and keep the Philharmonic alive. As Earl Powell, one of our Executive Committee members, explained to you, it would be extremely helpful if the City of Miami would waive the rental charges on our use of Gusman Hall, for the balance of the Season.
