Maintenance contracts locally usually have additional costs for the first inspection to check out a system thoroughly. Typically, the contracts have a flat rate charge plus an additional charge for parts and labor where repairs need to be Cade. Listed below are some estimated costs which have been ob- tained through three local sources: 1. Three-story apartment house, simple unsophisticated system usually 6 pull stations, 3 bells - annual contract $50 to $75. One local source suggested their competitive bidding price could be as low as $25, plus parts and labor. 2. Eight -story apartment house or condominium, numerous pull stations and an annunciator panel, unsophisticated system - annual contract $150 to $175, plus parts and labor. 3. Large hotel or condominium, with sophisticated fire protection system, may require inspections more often than annually, could be more than $600 plus_parts and labor, depending upon the size of the building and the sophistication of the system (these buildings may include smoke detectors tamper switches, zoned system, sprinkler system, specialized fire extin- guishing systems, such as Talon and CO2).
