Parkes Director Department of Public Works January 24, 1978 E-8185E ADMINISTRATION WILDING SITE PREPARATION Please place an item on the January 24, 1978 Agenda to ratify and confirm the actions of the City Manager in accepting the bid and executing a contract to demolish and remove an existing foundation, general site preparation, new foundation excavation, and erect temporary fencing. This action is necessary to confirm the actions taken by authority of Resolution Mo. 77-793 dated October 13, 1977, which authorized the City Manager to receive bids and award contracts, as necessary to comply with the time schedule imposed by the Economic Develop- ment Administration for the Local Public Works Capital Development and Improvement Project Grant, for the construction of a new Administration Building. This project was properly advertised and bids were received on January 9, 1978. Bids from two contracting firms were received. The bid of P. J. Constructors, Inc. in the amount of $43,850.00 was the lowest bid received. The Department of Public Works reviewed the two proposals, and, after discussions with Morris Kaufmann and James Connolly, Project Coordinators, recommendation was made to award contract as above specified. To accomplish the Economic Development Authority condition that the City maintain on -site continuous day-to-day construction, the City Manager was authorized by Resolution No. 77-793 to execute the construction contracts so that work will commence in accordance with the schedule.
