A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ELECTION
OF PEII•:R JoFFRE, JR. AND (SILL R. SMITH
TO THE RE'I IRl 1ENT BOARD OF THE i•1IAMI CITY
GENERAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the ordinance, creating the "Miami
City General Employees' Retirement Plan" also provided
for the election of members to the Retirement Board by Plan
members (ordinance No. 3624); and
WHEREAS, an election was duly held on December 9,
1977 for the purpose of electing two such Roard members
with the result that a run-off election was necessary; and
WHEREAS, a rein-oi f election was duly held on
December 16, 1977 with the following results:

as reflected by the Certificate of the City Clerk, dated
December 23, 1977, a copy of which 1s attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY ()F MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The election of PETER JOFFRE, JR.
and BILL R. SMITH to the Retirement Board of the Miami City
General Employees' Retirement Plan is hereby confirmed for
a term expiring December 31, 1979.
PASSED ANI) ADOPTED this 11 day of January, 1978.

Results of the run-off election for the
Retirement Plan Board held 12-16-77.
The above -captioned results for the Retirement Plan Board election were transmitted
to you on December 19, 1977.
Information on the primary election for the Retirement Board Plan was contained
on the same runsheet as the Civil Service Board results, previously transmitted.
We are now attaching; a Certificate which contains the totals of Notes received
by candidates in the primary as well as votes received by candidates in the
run-off election.
It is now appropriate for you to complete the canvassing of the results and to
request the Law Department to prepare the necessary Resolution to certify the
election of the two successful candidates at the next scheduled Commission ,
meeting.
