AM ORDINANCE DtECONTINUM THE DEPARTMENT Or u Dr !ETERNAL AUNTTORS AND THE DEPARTMENT OP COMl UNTCA "TONS; CONTATMO A REPEALER PRCM= AND A 'SEVRRADtt►rTY CLAUSE, WHEREAS, the administrative department known as the Bureau of internal Auditors was duly created by Ordinance No. 4576 in September, 1952, and WHEREAS, the department known as the Department of Communications was duly created by Ordinance No. 7246 in September, 1964 ; and WHEREAS, the functions and duties of the aforesaid departments have been assigned to other administrative departments within the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Charter authorizes the discontinu- ance of any department by the City Commission as well as the distribution of the functions and duties of departments and subdivisions thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The department known as the Department of the Bureau of Interna 1 Aud it ors is hereby discontinued. Section 2. The department known as the Department of Communications Is hereby discontinued. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances, insofar as they are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. (1) Under separate cover we have forwarded 3 proposed ordinances creating the Department of Leisure Services, the Department of Citizen Services and the Department of Conferences and Conventions. In completing this assignment, we became aware that 2 non-functioning departments had never been formally discontinued pursuant to Charter Section 19A: Internal Audit (Bureau of Internal Auditors) and Communications. Accordingly, we have forwarded under separate cover necessary legislation to formally discontinue these 2 departments.
