Home My WebLink AboutO-08734DIVINANCt 8734 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OP i rINANCE NO. 8716, ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE ANNUAL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROP 1ATlONS ORDINANCE FOR THE 'FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1978, AS AMENDED 13Y EStALLISHNG NEW FUNDS; MAKING AD- JUSTMENTS 1N THE HIGHWAY GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FUND; AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL PROJECTS CONTAINED IN SAID FUNDS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDI- NANCES 1N CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY PROVISION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8716 on October 26, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of capital improvements In the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1978; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 26, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida, including funds from the Department of Commerce Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Program for capital improvements; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 77-854 on October 26, 1977, allocating the amount of $18,469 for Flagler Street Landscaping Project, which by previous written agreement is to be fully reimbursed by the Downtown Development Authority; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is expected to adopt a Resolution on December 8, 1977, accepting a reimbursement grant of up to $25,000 from Dade County for the repair - reconstruction of the South Grove Bicycle Path, for which the City will be responsible for funding the cost of engineering and design services, supervision of construction, the relocation of existing walls and other costs incidental to the project from Highway Bond Funds estimated to cost a maximum of $5,300. The attached ordinance amends Ordinance No 8716 by incorporating the Federal Depart- ment of Commerce Local Public Works Capital Development and Investment Grant projects and by adding two additional reimbursable projects within the Highway Bond Fund, In reference to the two highway projects, the Commission approved the Flagler Street Landscaping project on October 26, 1977, and it is expected to accept a $25,000 reimbursable grant from Dade County for the repair and reconstruction of the South Grove Bicycle Path at its meeting on December 8, 1977. For the South Grove Bicycle Path, the City will have to spend an estimated $5,300 from Highway Bond Funds for engineering and design services, for relocation of an existing wall and for construction supervision. First reading of the proposed amendment ordinance should be scheduled for City Commission action on the December 8, 1977, agenda.
