Meals Program serves the poor low income elderly persons over 60 years of age for over 40 years, with hot meals and access to essential viable services, designed to help them maintain a healthly and independent lifestyle. The Agency has been providing services to low income minority frail elderly in the areas of Allapattah, City of Miami, all areas that are identified in the Projected unmet Needs and Profile of the Elder Population. We will provide meals and supportive social, recreational and educational services year-round. AA tools, recreation, transportation, immigration assistance, education, nutrition services. Program Start Date: 10-1-2025 Program End Date: 9-30-2026 Please describe how this program/project and funding will alleviate poverty within the City of Miami? Affected population are seniors from poor or low-income households who many qualify for low-income housing and government assistance. The issues are that approximately eighty three (83) % of Allapattah residents are Hispanic and many do not have a command of the English language IMPACT AND PERFORMANCE: Describe the overall expected outcomes and performance measures for this project/program. And, list the supporting documentation that will be submitted with the Close Out Report: We will provide 2,172 Congregate Meals and 12,092 Homebound meals to the elderly residents. We will submit the list of clients with the amount of meals received and any other documentation required by the funding source.
