SUBJECT: Property Owner Amnesty Program One
Year Update
REFERENCES: Ordinance 14307
ENCLOSURES:
On September 26, 2024, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 14307 which amended
Chapter 10-101 of the City code to allow for a pilot amnesty program for new commercial property
owners. This program allowed properties which had breached demolition orders under the previous
property owner a mechanism to bring the property into compliance. At the time of the passing of
this ordinance, a directive was given by the City Commission to provide an update within one year
as to how many qualifying commercial property owners had availed themselves of the program.
To date the following properties have utilized the New Commercial Property Owner Amnesty
Program:
• 256NE79 St.
• 260 NE 79 St.
• 336 NW12 Av.
• 340 NW 12 Av.
Should the City Commission desire to extend the pilot program, draft legislation has been drafted
to be considered for approval by the City Commission.
As always, we remain available to answer any questions.
