Subject: Discussion - Unsafe Structures Commercial Amnesty Program Update
Purpose of Item:
The purpose of the discussion item is to provide an update on Ordinance 14307 which
amended Section 10/Article VI of the City code by way of creating a commercial
property amnesty pilot program.
Background of Item:
Adopted September 26, 2024, Ordinance 14307 amended Section 10-101 of the City
Code creating a pilot program allowing new purchasers of commercial properties with
demolition orders due to previous owner's failure to comply to schedule breach
hearings. Upon adoption, the City Commission directed the City Manager to provide an
update within one year, including a list of all commercial properties that availed
themselves of the pilot program. By way of this discussion item, the City Manager is
providing said list to the City Commission.
