A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION WAIVING THE PRIVATE
PROPERTY LIMITATION FOR SPECIAL EVENTS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER
52/ARTICLE I/SECTION 2 OF THE CODE OF CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, TITLED, "SPECIAL EVENTS/SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT/SPECIAL
EVENTS IN GENERAL; DURATION AND LIMITATIONS; CITY COMMISSION
WAIVER," FOR THE RESERVE PADEL SPECIAL EVENT HELD AT 75 NORTHEAST
39 STREET FROM SEPTEMBER 25, 2025 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2025.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended ("City Code"), a Special Event may occur on public or private property; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(g), "[n]o more than four special events shall be
permitted, each for a maximum duration of seven consecutive days, to be held on the same
private property or portion thereof per calendar year"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 52-2(i), "The above limitations on Special Events may
be waived by an affirmative vote of the City Commission for the calendar year affected. Any
such additional Permit(s), however, will be limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time";
and
WHEREAS, the Reserve Padel Special Event has been occurring at 75 Northeast 39
Street, Miami, Florida ("Event Site") for over a year wishes to continue; and
WHEREAS, Reserve Padel Miami has created pop-up courts which have brought this
sport to our community, where both children and adult teaching clinics are occurring as well as
regular play and tournaments.; and
WHEREAS, the current Special Event cycle has expired and needs to be renewed; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site do require permits to be issued by the City of
Miami ("City") to ensure life -safety and quality of life issues and appropriate conditions may be
imposed on each permit; and
WHEREAS, the Event at the Event Site has been beneficial to the City's residents and
visitors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 52-2 of the City Code, titled "Special Events in General;
Duration and Limitations; City Commission Waiver," the limitation of no more than four (4)
Special Events for seven (7) days each per calendar year is hereby waived pursuant to Section
52-2(i) to allow the Reserve Padel Special Event to continue from September 25, 2025 through
December 31, 2025 at the Event Site.
Section 3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code,
including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
