R-25-0341, ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2025, AND APPROVING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW RESOLUTION MAKING PROVISIONS FOR EARLY VOTING IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 100.3605 AND 101.657 FLORIDA STATUTES, FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 4, 2025 AND A RUN-OFF ELECTION, IF REQUIRED, ON DECEMBER 9, 2025; DESIGNATING CERTAIN SITES AND A SCHEDULE FOR EARLY VOTING; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 101.657, Florida Statutes, provides for early voting in various locations throughout the State of Florida; and WHEREAS, no county, state, or federal elections other than the general municipal election for the City of Miami ("City") are scheduled for November 4, 2025; and WHEREAS, if the City requires a run-off election, it will occur on December 9, 2025; and WHEREAS, no other county, state, or federal elections are scheduled for December 9, 2025; and WHEREAS, Section 101.657, Florida Statutes, allows for a municipality to conduct early voting at times determined by the municipality so long as the early voting activities do not conflict with the Florida Election Code; and WHEREAS, on September 11, 2025, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. R- 25-0341, which designated certain sites and a schedule for early voting for the November 4, 2025 General Municipal Election and Run -Off Election, should it be required; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its residents to add an additional designated site and conduct early voting on the dates and times set forth herein; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-33(f) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), the City Commission, by a majority vote, hereby deems this Resolution to be of an emergency nature; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. R-25-0341 adopted on September 11, 2025 is hereby rescinded in its entirety. Section 3. Early voting in the City for the November 4, 2025 General Municipal Election will be held at the designated sites referenced below on the following dates and times. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this Resolution is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Resolution shall not be affected. Section 6.
