HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-03005RESOLUTION NO. 3005. A RESOLUTION OPPOSING APPLICATION OF A. 0. HENDERSON FOR PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT ARTIFICIAL ISLANDS IN BISCAYNE BAY. VHEREAS, it has just been ailed to the attention of the Commissioners of the City of Miami that there is now pending before the War Department of the United States Government in application filed by A. O. Henderson of Jacksonville, Florida, for a permit to obstruct approximately eight miles of the open water of Biscayne Bay by the construction of a series of arti- ficial islands from Key Biscayne to the Ragged. Keys. AND WHEREAS, it is believed by the City Commissioners of the City of Miami that such obstruction mould in effect land - lock this area and .°could be detrimental to the public health by contributing to the pollution of the waters of the Bay and interfere with navigation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI: That the City of Miami does hereby protest to the War Department of the United States Government against the allowance of the said application of A. 0.
