WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met as a Board of Equalization, legal notice of such meetings hav- ing theretofore been duly given as required by law, did examine the assessment roll of the City Tax Assessor shorting the taxable proper- ty in said City for the year beginning July 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, and did meet for the purpose of hearing complaints and re- ceiving testimony as to the value of any property, real or personal, as fixed by the City Tax Assessor and perfecting, levying and equal- icing said assessments, and did make such changes in said assessment roll, and did revise and equalize such assessments as in the opinion and judgment of said Boar& of Equalization was deemed, necessary and proper; and WHEREAS, the said City Commission has determined the total sum of valuations of taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Miami, Florida, for the year beginning July 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, to be $389,648,391.00; and WHEREAS, at an election held September 2nd, 192b, the City of Miami aid annex certain territory uninoorporated at the time of such election and did annex oertain otherterritory incorporated at the time of such election; and WHEREAS, Section 1922, General Revised. Statutes, of Florida, provides that real estate or other property which may be within any territory so annexed at the time of any such election shall not be liable tor, nor taxed. to pay any bona indebtedness of the oity of town to wbieh it may be annexed existing at the time of any snob election; and further provides that the real estate or other prop- erty which may be within the pity or town to which such annexation may be made aha74be liable for, or taxed. to pay any bon inaebtod- neon of any eveh eity or to eo maze& which may be existing at the time ot onoh eleotion; NOV, AFORE, DE IT Of DAIlE 8Y THE COMMISSION OP rse CITY 0P MIAM I Section le That tor the pirpose ot this ordinance "GREATER VIM DISTRICT" is defined to be and inoludeo all ot the following describe& Dietriete and designates the City of Miami as it now exists with the extended territorial limits; "ORIGINAL MIAMI DISTRICT" is defined to be and designates all that certain area and portion of GREATER MIAMI DISTRICT formerly incorporated and known as The City of Miami, Florida prior to the eleotion held September and, 1925, for the extension of the territorial limits of said City of Miami; "BUENA VISTA DISTRICT" is defined to be and designates all that certain area and portion of GREATER MIAMI DISTRICT formerly ineor- porated and known, prior to said election, as the Town of Buena Vista, Florida; "COCONUT GROVE DISTRICT" is defined to be and designates all that certain area and portion of GREATER MIAMI DIS- TRICT formerly incorporated and known, prior to said eleotion, as the City of Coconut Grove, Florida; "SILVER BLUFF DISTRICT" is defined to be and designates all that certain area and portion of GREATER MIAMI DISTRICT formerly incorporated and known, prior to said election as the Town of Silver Bluff, Florida; and "FORMER- LY UNINCORPORATED DISTRICT" is defined to be and designates all that pertain area and portion of GREATER MIAMI formerly unincor- porated prior to the said eleotion held September 2nd, 1925. Section 2. That there shall be and is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the "GREATER MTAVT DISTRICT", as described in Section 1 hereof, a tax of 9 mills on the dollar for the fiscal year beginning JUly 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1987, for the benefit of the General Pun& or the City of Miami. $eetion 3, That there shall be and, le hereby levied upon the seen 4, W..ue of 011 property, both real and personal, in the 'GREAT- ER saw DISTRICT", se 4esdribed in Section 1 hereof, a tax of 3/4 of s mill an the 4ollar for the fiscal year beginning ,may 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, for the benefit of Lighting of the City of Miami. Seetion 4. That there shall be and, is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the RaREATER MTAMr b?STRICTN, as deseribed in Seetion 1 hereof, a tax of lit faille on the dollar tor the fiscal year begs nm ng July 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, for the benefit of the Publicity Fund of the City of Miami. Section 5. That there shall be and is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the "ORIGINAL MIAMI DISTRICT" of the City of Miami, Florida, as described in Section 1 hereof, a tax of 6i mills on the dollar for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1926, and ending dune 30, 1927, for the bene- fit of the Stnacing Fund and the Interest Fund of the City of Miami. Section 6. That there shall be and is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the '"Bum VISTA DISTRICT" of the City of Miami, Florida, as described in Section 1 hereof, a tax of Sit mina on the dollar for the fiscal year beginn- ing July 1. 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, for the benefit of the Sinking Fund and the Interest Fund of the City of Miami. Section 7. That there shall be and is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the "COCO- NUT GROVE DISTRICT" of the City of Miami, Florida, as described in Seotion 1 hereof, a tax of DI mills on the dollar for the fiscal year beginning Jay 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, for the bene- fit of the Sinking' Fund and the Interest Ftin tt of the City of Miami. Section 8. That there shall be and is hereby levied upon the assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the "SILVER BLUFF DISTRICT" of the City of Miami, Florida, as described in Section 1 hereof, a tax of II mine on the dollar for the fieoal year be,gin- July 1, 1926, and ending June 30, 1927, for the benefit of the Oinking Pund, and the Interest Find, of the City of Miami. Section 9. That there shall be and i8 hereby levied, upon the aaaseaed value of all property, both read and personal, in the ?O R„ LY U CO RATED DISTRICT, of the City of Miami, Florida. as descrtbed to Section 1 hereof, a tax oT 1 adllo on the dollar for the fl oosl, year beginning July 1, 1926, and ending :dne BO, 1927, tor the benefit of the Sinking PUma .n& the Interest Pund of the Otty of )tiftmi Section 10. The foregoing ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need tor the preservation of peace, health, safety and property of the City. Seotion 11. The necessity of reading this Ordinance on two separate occasions is hereby dispensed with by a four -fifths (VS) rote of the Commission. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2fth day of :illy, A.
