A RESOLUTION REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2820, ADOPTED
JULY 6TH, 1926, WHICH SAID RESOLUTION AUTHORIZED THE
CONSTRUCTION OF BASEBALL FIELD AND GRANDSTAND AT CO-
CONUT GROVE; AND AUTHORIZING INSTEAD THE CONSTRUC-
TION OF A PLAYGROUND ACCORDING TO PLANS SUBMITTED BY
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WELFARE.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2820, adopted July 6th, 1926,
the construction of a baseball field and grandstand at Coconut
Grove at a cost of 012,250 was authorized, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Publio Welfare has recommended
the construction of a complete playground instead of such base-
ball field and grandstand and has submitted plane for such a
playground, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the construction of the play-
ground will serve a greater number of residents of the Coconut
Grove District than the baseball field and grandstand,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COI1MISSION OF THE
CITY OF M AUI :
1. That Resolution No. 2820, adopted July 6th, 1926,
entitled "A Resolution Authorizing the Construction of Baseball
Field and Grandstand at Coconut Grove Water Works", be, and the
same is hereby, cancelled and repealed.
2. That the construction of a Playground according to the
plans submitted by the Director of Public Welfare at a cost of
approximately ^11,000 is hereby authorized.
