The Clerk read the minutes of the regular meeting of December 28th, and there being
no oorreotions or additions to be made thereto, on motion duly made and seconded,
the said minutes were approved and confirmed as written.
CONFIRMATION OF RESOLUTIONS ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS - DISTRICTS SR. 183 & SR. 184
This being the date set and advertised for hearing objections to the confirmation of
the Resolutions ordering Sewer Improvements 183 and 184, the Clerk having submitted
proof of due publication of the notice of the meeting, and no objections to the con-
firmation of the said resolutions having been received, the said resolutions were
oonfirmed by the following resolutions:
A resolution oonfirming the resolution ordering Sanitary Sewer Improvement 183 was
introduced by Mr. Gilman, who moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2415.
A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RESOLUTION
ORDERING SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT 183.
WHEREAS, The City Commission at a meeting held at 3:00 o'olook
P. M., Danuary 4th, 1926, after legal notice, heard all objections
presented by interested persons to the confirmation of the resolution
ordering Sanitary Sewer Improvement 183, and the plans, specifications
and estimate of cost thereof, and no objection was sustained,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIE C MISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAIII: That Resolution No. 2337, adopted December 14th, 1925, order-
ing Sanitary Sewer Improvement 183, be, and the same is hereby, con-
firmed„ and the work so ordered shall be done by City forces.
Upon being seoonded by Mr. Wilson, the said resolution was passed and adopted by the
following vote - AYES: Leffler, Gilman, Lummus, Wilson. NOES: None.
A resolution confirming the resolution ordering Sanitary Sewer Improvement 184 was
introduced by Mr. Lummus, who moved its adoption:

A RESOLUTION CONFIRIENG THE P‘2LIMINARY
ASSESSMENT ROLLS FOR IIGHNAY 'IMPROVEMENT
228, 237, 240, 244 AND 248.
WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met on
'Olivetti day of January, 1926, pursuant to due legal notioe of said
Meeting under Section 56, City Charter, to hear all written objeo-
tions to the confirmation of the preliminary assessment rolls for
the cost of work in Highway Improvement Districts 228, 237, 240,
244 and 248, and
WHEREAS, no objection thereto was sustained, and the said assess-o'
meat rolls appearing in all respects regular and in accordance with
the requirements and provisions of the City Charter,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OW.II8SION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI:
1. That the primafacie assessments, as apportioned and indi-
cated in said preliminary assessment rolls be, and they are hereby,
in all things, confirmed and sustained against any and all lots or
parcels of ground described therein.
2. That the sums and amounts assessed against eaoh of the lots
or parcels of ground in said preliminary assessment rolls are less
than the amount that eaoh of said lots or parcels of ground is special-
ly benefitted by said improvement and that such amounts are in pro-
portion to the special benefits that the property reoeived and that
the proportion of said costs to be paid by the said City of Miami on
a000unt of highway intersections is the sum set forth opposite the
same therein.
3. That the total cost of the said improvements in the sums of
12,635.05 for Improvement H-228,
5,430.37 for Improvement H-237,
8,078.13 for Improvement H-240,
a 8,314.50 for Improvement 11-244, and
5' 3,026.85 for Improvement R-248,
be, and the same are hereby, approved and confirmed.
Upon being seconded by Ur. Lummus, the said resolution was passed and:adopted:bythal
following vote - AYES: Messrs. Leffler, Gilman, Lummus, Wilson. NOES: -None.
AWARD OF CONTRACTS FOR SEWER CONSTRUCTION
The City Manager submitted oommunioationa addressed to him from the Direotor of
Public Servioe reporting the result of tabulation of bids received Deoember' 28th,

low bidder by 30.45 in their proposal of 36.30 for furnishingof
castings. The sum of their proposals is 0,811.25, and is 3228.75
or .02% less than our estimate.

be low bidder by $915.31, in their proposal of t22,749.54 for con-
struotion, and the C. H. Lyne Company low bidder by 82.45 in their

these low bids amounts to $22,985.59, which is 81.169.03 or 4% less
that our estimated cost.

SPECIAL BUILDING PERMIT TO E. R. WOLF
The Direotor of Public Servioe submitted the following oommunioation addressed to,
him from the Chief Building Inspector in referenoe to the plane of the proposed
E. R. Wolf Warehouse Building:

Mr. E. R. Wolf has made application for permit to build
an 8-story, concrete and tile, fire -proof warehouse building on Lot
2, Block 3 of Miami Warehouse Subdivision, located at 251 S.W. let
Court.
The size of the lot is 40 x 86'6", and the size of the
proposed building is 40 x 86'8".
In view of the fact that the proposed building is of fire-
proof construction, and is to be located in the warehouse district,
it is recommended that the applicant be permitted to cover the entire
area of the lot, provided the plans and speoifioations submitted with
the application comply with the City Building Laws.

The plane for the proposed building were examined by the Commission, and it appear-
ing advisable to allow a greater proportion of lot area to be covered than provided±
by the City Building Code, the following resolution authorizing the issuanoe ,of a '
special building permit was introduoed by LIr. Lummus, who moved its adoption:

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
BUILDING INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF MIALII TO
ISSUE A SPECIAL BUILDING PERMIT TO B. R.
WOLF FOR THE ERECTION OF A WAREHOUSE BUILD-
ING.
WHEREAS, by an amendment to the City Building Code, it is pro-
vided that in the construction of buildings to cover a greater pro-
portion of lot area than allowed by the City Building Code, it shall
be necessary to submit clans and speoifioations for such building
to the Building Inspector and the Director of Public Service for ex-
amination and upon proper recommendation from said offioials, the
City Commission may authorize the issuance of a Special Building Per-
mit, and
WHEREAS, E. R. ?Wolf hes submitted plans and specifications for
the erection and construction of a warehouse building located on Lot

ACCEPTING DEDICATIONS IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS
The Direotor of Public Service submitted plate i of certain new subdivisions, bear-
ing his approval, showing the dedication of certain portions of such subdividbns

REQUEST FOR POLICE SUB -STATION
Mr. J. W. Carey and others from the Silver Bluff District came before the Commission
and asked that the City establish a Police Sub -Station at Silver Bluff, and stated
that under the present arrangement with the sub -station at Coconut 'rove they did
not feel that they had adequate pollee proteotion. The matter was discussed "end it
was the sense of the Commission that the Districts of Silver Bluff and Coconut Grove
could both be better served with the sub -station et Coconut Grove rather than et
Silver Bluff. Mr. Carey stated that it was agreeable with the citizens of noSilver
Bluff District for the station to be located at Coconut Grove if the Silver Bluff
District was adequately proteoted by patrolmen. It was decided to leave the sub-
station at Coconut Grove as already established end the residents of Silver T31uff
were promised that their District would be properly policed.
OPENING OF N. E. 3RD AVENUE
Mr. Percy Threadgill came before the Commission in reference to condemnation proceed-
ings for opening N. E. 3rd Avenue, North from 13th .)-treet, and stated thet he thought
it was unfair to property owners affected by this proposed improvement forthe City
to start condemnation proceedings without first attempting to purchase the property
needed. Mr. Threadgill was told that it had always been the policy of the City to
purchase property needed for public purposes directly from the owner without condemn
ation proceedings when a prioe satisfactory to both the City and the owner could be
agreed upon and Mr. Threadgill was instructed to take the matter up with tho City
Manager.
