Little Haiti Revitalization Trust
Master Plan I Fiscal Year 2025-2026
Background
In accordance with Section 12.5-49(c) of the ordinance establishing the Little Haiti Revitalization
Trust, a master plan outlining proposed operations, activities, and improvements for the upcoming
fiscal year must be submitted alongside the annual budget for City Commission approval. This
document is presented to fulfill that requirement.
Operations
The proposed budget outlines projected operational expenses for a 12-month period, covering
staffing and programming. The Trust will continue to operate from the Little Haiti Cultural Center
and will convene board meetings as required.
Activities
1. Ongoing Programming
The Trust will maintain and promote the following community programs:
A. Small Business Grant Program
B. Home Rehabilitation Program
C. Home Buyer Assistance Program
2. Fundraising Initiatives
The Trust will pursue diverse funding opportunities, including grants, donations, and
strategic partnerships.
3. Strategic Guidance
The Trust will formally adopt the 10-Year Strategic Plan developed by Florida International
University by Design as a roadmap for future initiatives and decision -making.
4. Affordable Housing Development
The Trust will seek and support initiatives to expand affordable housing options within the
boundaries of Little Haiti.
5. Community and Economic Development
Strategic activities will be implemented to foster economic growth and revitalization
throughout the neighborhood.
6. Educational Programming
The Trust will evaluate community educational needs and design relevant programming to
address those needs including workforce training programs.
