A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING AN
INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE NOVEMBER 20, 2025 ("GIVE MIAMI DAY"), WITH A
SPECIFIC FOCUS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE BENEFIT OF CITY OF MIAMI
("CITY") PARKS; FURTHER CONFIRMING THAT THE CITY WILL RAISE
MONEY ON GIVE MIAMI DAY AND THE DAYS PRECEDING TO RAISE
FUNDS THAT WILL BE ALLOCATED TO THE CITY OF MIAMI PARK FUND
HELD AT THE MIAMI FOUNDATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PROCEED WITH ANY AND ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THE
INITIATIVE IS ESTABLISHED; FURTHER CONFIRMING THAT THE FUNDS
RAISED FROM THE INITIATIVE SHALL BE DISTRIBUTED EVENLY
THROUGHOUT EACH CITY COMMISSION DISTRICT FOR THE BENEFIT OF
THE PARKS IN EACH DISTRICT.

WHEREAS, Give Miami Day, held annually by The Miami Foundation, a Florida
Not For Profit Corporation, is one of the largest giving events in the United States,
supporting nonprofit organizations throughout Greater Miami; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") recognizes the importance of public parks in
enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors, promoting health, recreation, and
community engagement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to establish a focused initiative to
promote Give Miami Day on November 20, 2025, with the specific goal of raising funds for
the benefit of City parks; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to raise funds on Give Miami Day and the days
preceding it, with all proceeds to be allocated to the City of Miami Park Fund held at The
Miami Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission further desires that the funds raised be
distributed evenly across all City Commission Districts to ensure equitable support for
parks in each district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The City Commission hereby establishes an initiative to promote Give
Miami Day on November 20, 2025, with a specific focus on raising funds for the benefit of
City parks.
Section 3. The City confirms its intent to raise funds on Give Miami Day and the
days preceding it, with all proceeds to be allocated to the City of Miami Park Fund held at
The Miami Foundation.
Section 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take any and all steps
necessary to ensure the successful establishment and implementation of this initiative,
including but not limited to outreach, coordination with The Miami Foundation, and public
engagement.
Section 5. The funds raised through this initiative shall be distributed evenly across
each City Commission district for the benefit of parks located within each respective
district.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
