Theater AND YOU ALL KNOW THIS! RE. RE RESOL UTI O N S Dear City Commission and Honorable Members, I am writing on behalf of the residents of West Little River, particularly the area between NW 17th Avenue and NW 81st-85th Streets, to formally request an opportunity to speak during the Public Comment section of the upcoming Commission meeting. Our community is grieving the recent and tragic death of Mr. Paul Mincey, a long-time resident and community patriarch, who lost his life in a vehicular crash at the intersection of NW 17th Avenue and 85th Street. Surveillance footage confirms that the vehicle involved was struck and pushed due to excessive Sep speeding — a risk that has long been unaddressed in our neighborhood. We are 08 requesting: A resolution directing the City Manager and/or Public Works Department to 2025 conduct a comprehensive traffic safety audit in the area bounded by NW 17th Avenue 3:33p and NW 81st-85th Streets. Immediate consideration and funding for the implementation m of traffic calming devices (e.g., speed humps, signage, or raised crosswalks) in this area. MDT Enhanced enforcement measures or speed monitoring until permanent safety improvements are in place. We ask that this issue be placed on the agenda as a formal resolution item and that the necessary staff be instructed to study and act upon this urgent matter. Our community should not have to mourn another loss due to preventable conditions on our roads. We would appreciate being added to the list of public speakers for the next Commission meeting on this topic.
