A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO COMMENCE THE PROCESS FOR THE ROAD CLOSURES
URGED BY THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS ("COUNTY"), PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION R-203-25,
FOR CITY OF MIAMI OWNED AND MAINTAINED ROADS LOCATED
BETWEEN NORTHWEST 46 STREET AND NORTHWEST 50 STREET AND
BETWEEN NORTHWEST 7 AVENUE AND NORTHWEST 12 AVENUE AS
DIRECTED HEREIN; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
REPORT BACK TO THE CITY COMMISSION WITHIN NINETY (90) DAYS TO
PROVIDE STATUS.

WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Board of County Commissioners ("County")
adopted Resolution R-203-25 that urged the City of Miami ("City") to initiate its road closing
process of City owned and maintained roads located between Northwest 46 Street and
Northwest 50 Street and between Northwest 7 Avenue and Northwest 12 Avenue; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 54-16 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended, the Commission shall have the power after a public hearing to seek vehicular traffic
be prohibited where the prohibition is in the best interest of the public; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to ensure that Section 54-16 of the City Code be applied to
ensure that the public hearing be advertised, a traffic study be initiated and the proposed
prohibited access be reviewed by Police, Fire -Rescue and Solid Waste; and
WHEREAS, an evaluation of placement of any traffic calming measures, pedestrian
safety, and possible expansion of the tree canopy in the area should be conducted to provide an
assessment of the impact of the proposed road closures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to commence the necessary and
applicable processes for the proposed road closures of City owned and maintained roads
located between Northwest 46 Street and Northwest 50 Street and between Northwest 7
Avenue and Northwest 12 Avenue.
Section 3. The City Manager shall report back to the City Commission within ninety (90)
days but no later than the City Commission meeting on October 23, 2025 with status as to the
steps taken to commence the proposed road closures.

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
