Enclosed you will find an ad for notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Commission on June 26, 2025, for the
purpose of approving the transfer of City -owned property located at 174 East Flagler Street, Miami Florida to Sports
Leadership and Management, Inc., a Florida Not -For -Profit Corporation ("SLAM Academy"). SLAM Academy has been
successful and would benefit from additional space to incorporate arts and technology into its curriculum.
Please place the ad in accordance with public hearing requirements of the City Commission.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on
Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. at City Hall, located at 3500 Pan American
Drive, Miami, Florida, 33133 for the purpose of granting the following:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, BY A FOUR -FIFTHS (4/5THS)
AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, AFTER AN ADVERTISED PUBLIC HEARING, RATIFYING,
APPROVING, AND CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDINGS PURSUANT
TO SECTION 18-182(C) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, AND WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SAID PROCEDURES;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, PURSUANT TO SECTION 29-B(C) OF THE
CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE A PURCHASE AND SALE AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT") BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND SPORTS LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT,
INC., A FLORIDA NOT -FOR -PROFIT CORPORATION ("SLAM ACADEMY")
TOGETHER WITH A QUITCLAIM DEED ("DEED"), IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO
THE CITY ATTORNEY, CONVEYING, WITH RESTORATION REQUIREMENTS, USE
RESTRICTIONS, AND REVERTER PROVISIONS, THE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY
KNOWN AS THE OLYMPIA THEATER, LOCATED AT 174 EAST FLAGLER STREET,
MIAMI, FLORIDA, (THE "PROPERTY") TO SLAM ACADEMY FOR THE
REHABILITATION AND UTILIZATION OF THE PROPERTY EXCLUSIVELY FOR
PUBLIC EDUCATION PURPOSES, WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE AGREEMENT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS TO THE
AGREEMENT AND DEED, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, AS DEEMED NECESSARY TO CONSUMMATE THE CONVEYANCE
FOR SAID PURPOSE.
All interested persons are invited to appear at the meeting and may be heard with
respect to the proposed resolution. Should any person desire to appeal any decision
of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be considered at this meeting,
that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including
all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
Pursuant to Miami City Code Section 2-33(o), whenever a scheduled City Commission
meeting is cancelled or is not held due to a lack of a quorum or other emergency, a
special City Commission meeting will be automatically scheduled for the Tuesday
immediately following the cancelled meeting. In the event of one of the
aforementioned circumstances, the special meeting would be held on July 1, 2025, at
9:00 a.m. in the City Commission chambers located at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan
American Drive, Miami, Florida 33133. All of the scheduled agenda items from that
cancelled meeting shall automatically be scheduled as an agenda item at the special
City Commission meeting.
The City Clerk shall notify the public of the special meeting that is to take place by
placing a notice of the special City Commission meeting at the entrance of City Hall
and the City's main administrative building, placing a notice on the City's website, and,
if feasible, placing an ad in a newspaper of general circulation before the special
meeting on the immediately following Tuesday. There shall be no additional notice by
publication required for any such scheduled agenda item that is moved to the special
City Commission meeting.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing
special accommodations to participate in this proceeding may contact the Office of
