HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-25-0288City of Miami Resolution R-25-0288 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 17764 Final Action Date: 7/24/2025 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ALLOCATING HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM ("HOME") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,919,951.04 FOR HOUSING PROGRAMS, FOR FISCAL YEAR ("FY") 2025-2026, AS MORE PARTICULARLY SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE PROVISION OF DECENT AND SAFE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN FORMS ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, on May 14, 2025, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") announced the final Community Planning and Development Program Formula Allocations for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, thereby announcing the amount of $2,919,951.04 of Home Investment Partnership Program ("HOME") funds to the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-25-0283, adopted July 24, 2025, the Miami City Commission accepted grant funds from HUD in the total amount of $22,283,189.04 which included an amount of $2,919,951.04 for the HOME program; and WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the allocation of HOME funds in the amount of $2,919,951.04 for FY 2025-2026, as more particularly specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, for the provision of affordable housing to low-income households; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of HOME funds in the amount of $2,919,951.04 for FY 2025- 2026 specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, beginning October 1, 2025, for the provision of affordable housing to low-income households, is authorized.' Section 3. The City Manager is authorized) to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
